Mite cuticle

Cuticle of the mite Labidostomma luteum, an abundant species found in the soil and forest litter of both deciduous and conifer forests. This specimen was collected in a primeval forest in Poland and imaged by SEM in secondary electron mode. The near-natural color was applied by Maciej Adamski.
