White blood cell attacks bacterium
Video shows how a segmented neutrophil, among the most abundant type of white blood cell, finds a pathogen and absorbs it. Bacteria were added to human blood: the large cell is neutrophil, round cells are red blood cells, and the stick-like object is a bacterium. Phase contrast light microscopy.
