Perfume

Menthol crystals dissolving in perfume solvent. In brightfield imaging, both menthol crystals and perfume appear colorless. With differential interference contrast (DIC), observed colors are interference colors that depend on polarization angle, mechanical stress on the sample, and surface tension of the fluid.
