Congratulations to the MSA Undergraduate Research Scholarship Recipients!

The Microscopy Society of America (MSA) is pleased to announce the recipients of the MSA Undergraduate Research Scholarships! These awards recognize outstanding undergraduate students conducting research involving microscopy and imaging techniques across various scientific disciplines.

This year, thanks to the generous support of MSA and our Sustaining Members, we are proud to support five students in their research endeavors. These scholars have demonstrated exceptional promise in microscopy-based research, and we are excited to see the impact of their work in the field.

Congratulations to this year’s recipients:

  • C'Lannye James – Union College Tunability of Interparticle Distances Between Gold Nanoparticles in Bilayer Peptoid Nanosheets
  • Hayes Johnston – American University Analysis of Heavy Metal-Microplastic Interactions in Urban and Rural Potomac River Sediments
  • Azam Al-Rahbi – University of Central Florida Characterization of Degradation Regimes in Perovskite Solar Cells
  • Dylan Gage – University of San Diego Light Field and Differential Dynamics Microscopy for Quantifying Dynamics in 3D
  • Jessica Phuong – Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University Materials Characterization for Microstructure Investigation of Recycled Aluminum Alloys

We extend our gratitude to the students' mentors and institutions for their support in fostering the next generation of scientists in imaging and analytical sciences.

Please join us in celebrating these talented students and their contributions to the field of microscopy!
