Undergraduate Research with Global Impact: Celina Detwiler Gray
As a dual-enrolled high school and undergraduate student, Celina Detwiler Gray received an MSA Undergraduate Research Scholarship that supported hands-on research at a pivotal stage in her academic journey. With this support, Celina conducted research that culminated in a peer-reviewed publication in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, one of the field’s leading journals.
Her work was selected for the journal’s cover, a rare distinction that underscores the impact of early investment in young scientists. MSA’s support provided not only funding, but confidence and opportunity—demonstrating how undergraduate researchers can make meaningful contributions to high-impact science when given the right resources.
