Students are encouraged to attend the annual Microscopy & Microanalysis meeting with the opportunity to offset some of the meeting costs. Many Student Council officers and members started their M&M experience as student bursars, which is a great opportunity to interact with peers and assist the society throughout the conference.
Program General Information
Students in the bursary program will be paid $15/hour for approximately 20 hours of work during the meeting or pre-meeting events. The work involves such things as providing support in the different symposia, staffing the volunteer office, and helping with the vendor tutorial sign-up or in the outreach booth. Registration for the program opens each spring before the meeting.
Applicants for the program must be current student members of MSA or MAS and enrolled as students at a recognized educational institution. Participants are responsible for their own registration fee & travel expenses.
